Guided Christian walking pilgrimages across Britain

Tours coming soon. Please register your interest.

For centuries, pilgrims have walked the paths of Britain — to Canterbury, to Walsingham, to the holy island of Iona, and to the shrines of the Northern Saints. These ancient routes, walked by countless Christians before us, are being rediscovered today by a new generation of pilgrims seeking to pray with their feet and encounter God in the landscape.

We are now welcoming registrations of interest from those who feel called to walk one of Britain's sacred pilgrimage routes in the company of fellow Christians and an experienced guide.

Walking a Christian Pilgrimage in the UK

A walking pilgrimage is one of the oldest forms of Christian devotion. Across Britain, a network of ancient and revived pilgrimage routes offers the chance to slow down, to walk in the footsteps of the saints, and to pray with your feet. From the pilgrim paths of Canterbury, immortalised by Chaucer, to the sacred shrine of Walsingham, from the holy island of Iona where Columba brought the Gospel to Scotland, to St Cuthbert's Way across the Northumbrian hills, these are journeys of body and soul.

Our guided UK pilgrimage walks take the planning and logistics off your shoulders so you can focus on the journey itself. We arrange accommodation, luggage transfers, route guidance, and the company of a Christian guide who brings the history and spirituality of each route to life. Whether you are walking a short section or a full long-distance route, you will be supported every step of the way.

Canterbury & Walsingham — England's Pilgrim Paths

Canterbury has been a destination of Christian pilgrimage since the murder of Thomas Becket in 1170, and the pilgrim routes to his shrine inspired Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Today, walkers can follow revived pilgrim paths to the great cathedral, the mother church of the Anglican Communion. Walsingham, known as "England's Nazareth," has been a place of pilgrimage since the eleventh century, when a noblewoman named Richeldis de Faverches had a vision of the Holy House of Nazareth. Both Catholic and Anglican shrines draw pilgrims today, and our walks can include both.

Iona & St Cuthbert's Way — Sacred Scotland & the North

The island of Iona, off the west coast of Scotland, is where St Columba founded a monastery in 563 AD and from which the Gospel spread across Scotland and northern England. It remains one of the most spiritually powerful sites in Britain. St Cuthbert's Way follows a 100-kilometre route from Melrose Abbey in the Scottish Borders to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, where Cuthbert was bishop and where the Lindisfarne Gospels were created. The crossing to Lindisfarne, timed with the tides, is one of the most memorable moments of any British pilgrimage.

Northern Saints & St Michael's Way — New Pilgrim Trails

The Northern Saints Trails, a network of six revived pilgrimage routes in the North East of England, connect sites associated with saints such as Aidan, Cuthbert, and Bede, centred on Durham Cathedral. St Michael's Way in Cornwall is a short but ancient route linking the coast to the shrine of St Michael's Mount. Together with the St James' Way — the British leg of the route to Santiago de Compostela — these trails form a growing network of Christian pilgrimage walking across Britain, offering journeys of every length and character.
