Ely Cathedral
Ely Cathedral — known as the 'Ship of the Fens' — is one of the most magnificent Norman cathedrals in England, visible for miles across the flat Cambridgeshire landscape. Founded as a monastery in 673 AD by St Etheldreda, the present building dates largely from the 11th and 12th centuries. It is a key waypoint on the Via Beata coast-to-coast pilgrimage.
