Iona Abbey
Iona Abbey was founded by St Columba in 563 AD and became the cradle of Celtic Christianity, sending missionaries across Scotland and northern England. Restored in the 20th century, the abbey remains a place of profound peace and worship on the tiny Hebridean island. St Oran's Chapel and the ancient Reilig Odhrain burial ground — burial place of early Scottish kings — stand nearby.
