Winchester Cathedral
Winchester Cathedral is one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe and the starting point of both the Pilgrims' Way to Canterbury and St James' Way to Southampton. Pilgrims can still claim the ancient Wayfarer's Dole — bread and ale — at the nearby Hospital of St Cross, a tradition dating back to 1132. The cathedral is the burial place of St Swithun and Jane Austen.
